Hi Rita, Be careful: there are two Grady Lee Thompson (s) in this family. One was born 28 April 1915 in Bladen County, NC and died 16 February 1976 in Bladen County, NC. He served in WW II and is buried in Cashwell Cemetery in Bladen County. His parents were Arthur Garfield Thompson and Katie Dix. Both were born and died in Bladen and both are buried in Cashwell Cemetery. I have all of the Thompson side of this family if you need grandparents and Grady's siblings. The second Grady Lee Thompson was born 13 August 1918 and died Jan 1976. His parents were Barney B. Thompson and Willie Lee Israel. Actually there was a third Grady Thompson but he only lived for 6 months (1890). In checking the cemetery books of Bladen I find that the first Grady Lee Thompson is not buried with a Gladys. There is a Gladys V. Thompson who is buried and shares a grave marker with her husband Dan Thompson. She was born October 24, 1916 but there is no death date shown. Neither family is listed in Family & Bible Records of Bladen County.
