I have a copy of Herbert Russ' book on the RUSS FAMILIES. Herbert says that "Capt Brisson was probably of Lafayette's French Army, brought over to help America during the Revolutionary War; he may have been Chevalalier de Brisson, who was commissioned Lt. Colonel by the Continental Congress. He married Huldah Russ and returned to France." If you need more info from the book please let me know.
