I have a very close match on a 67 marker test with a Lewis descendant who lives in Texas. We are also both in the hapiogroup G-2 The URL for this site is: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/G-YDNA/index.aspx?fixed_columns=on My great great grandfather, Holland A. Haney is believed to be the out of wedlock son of one of Benjamin Haynie Jr.'s four daughters. Holland was born about 1806. Benjamin Haynie, Jr. .was born in Northumberland County, VA and migrated to Halifax County, NC and lived their for some time. His brother Jesse Haynie was the Sheriff of Halifax County. Benjamin is believed to have been a Tory and most likely lost his land after to Revolution. He shows up in the 1800 Bladen County census as Benjamin Hainey and an unidentified relative Henry Hainey (not his son Henry who was born 1890 but most likely a nephew). They are listed on pages 20 and 21 of the 1800 Bladen County census among a number of Lewises: Page 20, line 12 = Josiah Lewis - lived 9 doors from Benjamin Page 20, line 19 = Henry Hainey Page 21, line 2 = Moses Lewis - lived next door to Benjamin Page 21, line 3 = Benjamin Hainey Page 21 line 12 = Capt. R. W. Lewis - lived six doors from Benjamin Page 22, line 7 = Aaron Lewis - lived 13 door from Benjamin Page 22, line 9 = Josiah Lewis, Sr. - lived 15 doors from Benjamin In 1800 Benjamin had two daughters 10-16 and one daughter 16-26 living in the home. I am convinced that Holland's father must be among these Lewises. Can you please tell me exactly where in Bladen County these people were living? Coordinates if possible. I can't locate Holland or his mother in 1810 but Benjamin must have either died in Bladen or left Bladen County as he or his son Benjamin III purchased land in Anson County 14 May 1806 and again on 12 Jan 1810. Benjamin's son Hezekiah is recorded in 1800 Halifax County census and as purchasing land in Anson 29 Jan 1802. Since Benjamin Jr.'s widow is living with her son Benjamin III in Anson and there is no record of his 20 year old son Henry Haynie or Benjemin's unidentified daughter and her son Holland A. Haney in 1810 it is possible that Benjamin Jr. had died in Bladen County and that Henry Haynie, Holland and his mother were living with an older married daughter of Benjamin as they are not listed with sons Hezekiah and Benjamin III in Anson. Yet to be married Henry Haynie Henry is listed in the 1820 Anson census most likely with 14 year old Holland, his mother and an unidentified male Jerry Haney Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
