O'Briant/Mary Jane Pafford NOTE: There are at least three family lines that feature a DENNIS O'Briant, O'Bryan, etc. Only one of these lines had Patrick. This took quite a while because some of these books that you asked for did not have an index. Dee For a detailed bibliography on the reference sources used for lookups, refer to this link: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncbladen/lookups.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: Catherine O'Briant <[email protected]> To: 'Dee Thompson' <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 14, 2005 1:16 PM Subject: Ref: Book List Morning Dee Every time I read your booklist I get over anxious trying to choose 1 book. Your collection is a treasure to me because just about each book holds a link into my own genealogy. I don't know what to do, the follow are a list of books I feel certain might hold a clue to my weakest link Patrick O'Brian(t) I wrote earlier. I understand this is much to ask and I would understand, could you please look up Patrick and Dennis Geraldus O'Brian, O'Bryan (variant spellings). Could you look up in your Granville/Person areas for the my matriarch ... Patrick O'Brian(t) b. 1740 - d. 1804 Granville Co., NC., I'm hoping that you would have any details concerning Patrick O'Brian(t), birth, or parents and where their from. In some court records I found in Richmond, VA there seems to be some type of a relationship between Patrick and Geraldus O'Briant, Sr. b. abt 1742 Ireland. Possibly his brother. Many of Geraldus O'Bryan(s) family I've followed up in Edgecombe Co., NC. The earliest record I've found for Patrick was a 1769 Tax record in Granville Co., NC. I understand both Patrick and his son Dennis O'Brian(t) were in the Rev. War but don't know the specifics. Patrick was married more then once. Family folklore is Patrick came from Ireland to seek his fortune and was an indentured servant leaving a wife and child to come to America. Patrick's last wife was Alta Hester. Dennis (last name found spelt O'Bryan(t), O'Brien, etc) b. 1760 Granville Co., NC - d. Feb 1817 Person Co., NC., his mother's name was Elizabeth ? (widow of David Stroud). Married Aug 05, 1806 Granville Co., NC to Rebecca Harris b. ? NC., daughter of John Harris (per Will) - d. Aug 30, 1836 Person Co., NC Dennis Jr b. May 29, 1784 Granville Co., NC m/t Frances Wilkerson b. Jan 22, 1790 Granville Co., NC d/o Francis Wilkerson and Ursala Satterwhite. Their son: Randolph O'Briant b. Aug 08, 1810 Granville Co., NC m/t Prudence Dixon b. Oct 16, 1808 NC. This couple later moved to Fayetteville Co., TN before settling in Attala Co., MS during 1830. I'm perplexed as to whether I should be emailing this to the BLADEN message board to you or sending it to you like this. I am sincere and would render expenses for your efforts.
