    3. It's a grant from the state and lists no neighbors. The land was for 100 acres on Richland Swamp. He later sold it to Neill McCorvey and it was passed down in my family until we sold it couple of years ago. 2. Wes Taylor Do you have dates or anything on the dau. of Daniel Taylor and Catherine Kelly other than her name was Catherine? I note my source has both the wife and dau. of Daniel Taylor as Catherine and you have "Katherine" as his wife. Wayne Atkinson Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.northcarolina.co unties.bladen/3060.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi This info is a distillation of multiple sources, which I can reference as needed. Daniel Taylor was the son of Archibald and Catherine Taylor of Skipness, Scotland. The family immigrated to NC in 1770 per some family records in the Bahamas. Daniel had brothers named John, Archibald, Duncan, Gilbert, Jephtha, and POSSIBLY Alexander, as well as some sisters. John and Daniel stayed in BLaden Co after the Revolutionary war, the other brothers being banished to the Bahamas for Loyalist service in the war; the most famous being Maj. (later Lt Col) Archibald Taylor. Both John and Daniel are listed in the records of the Brown Marsh Presbyterian Church, and John and Daniel are both buried in the churchyard there. They are also both listed on the will of Archibald Kelly. I suspect that Daniel Taylor and Katherine Kelly had a son named Duncan born around 1780, but can't prove it at this time. Duncan may have been Danie's nephew by another brother. I suspect that this Duncan was a connection for me to this family, but again can't prove it. I hope this helps. Wes Taylor

    3. Go back to the site and select sections of the type with your cursor, click the copy command. Now open a word document. Then click your cursor at the top of the word doc page and hit the paste command--the text will appear. You may have to format it some by comparing the online page with the pasted text in your word doc, but you can manage it. You probably should change the coloring on your monitor somehow. When you go to the site adjust the contrast and brightness on the monitor--there are little adjustment controls on the bottom front edge or front of your monitor which will help you see the type. I didn't create the online page so I can't change the yellow background. (It appears yellow on my screen, not brown) Frances Ray wrote: >I tried to read the 1763 Bladen County tax list but was unsuccessful. 3. To view an online transcription of the 1763 Bladen County tax list and the 1755 Cumberland County tax list, go to my site, www.capefearclans.com, and click 'Latest Updates' in the navigation bar on the left and you'll see the two lists' links at the top of the page that comes up. But read the text that accompanies the two links.
