No further information on William H Pridgen Peter H Pridgen is the one who married Catherine J 'Katie' Allen and were parents of Jefferson Davis Pridgen and James Lafayette 'Tate' Pridgen. This couple (Peter H Allen and Katie Allen also had the following children: Charlie Bunberry Pridgen, married Dora Allen (dau of James H Allen, Jr and Mary Amanda Evans) Clinton Pridgen G.C. Pridgen Armitha Pridgen Are any of these names familiar to you? And are you a member of the Pridgen mailing list at Rootsweb? Lots of helpful information within the group of members there. I unsubbed when we moved back to Georgia in August and just haven't resubbed. Regards, Nancy

Its time for me to get the full bibliographies on these three books to y'all. 175. INDEX OF NORTH CAROLINA ANCESTORS, contributed by 1003 of their descendants, North Carolina Genealogical Society, Raleigh, 1981, private collection. 176. INDEX OF NORTH CAROLINA ANCESTORS, VOLUME II, contributed by 565 of their descendants, North Carolina Genealogical Society, Raleigh, 1984, private collection. 177. MIGRATIONS ACTUAL AND IMPLIED, Volume One, compiled by Caroline Cunningham, 1968, private collection. I do not know if they are available for sale anywhere, but if there is any hope it will be with Margaret Hofmann who helped proofread the first "Ancestors". They will be on the Bladen URL soon, as will the seven (#168-174) South Carolina books before them. Dee For details on sources used, refer to this link: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncbladen/lookups.htm

Hi Dee, This is the last inquire concerning my Evans family :-) I have another set but will send that separately. Benjamin Evans and Sarah Benson Evans had two daughters who married into the Pridgen families of Bladen Co. It is these families that I am inquring about in this post. A- Laura Evans, born about 1860 Kelly; died 1945 in Kelly. She. married Jefferson Davis Pridgen, born 1860 Kelly; died 1932 in Kelly. They had 10 children all of whom were born in Kelly. Jefferson Davis Pridgen is a son of Peter H Pridgen and Catherine J 'Katie' Allen. (Trying to find the parents of Peter H Pridgen). Catherine J 'Katie' Allen was a daughter of James H Allen, Sr and first wife Mary Polly Kelly. Jefferson Davis Pridgen died of stomach cancer; he and wife Laura are buried in Garden of Memories Cemetery Kelly, NC. B- Sarah Catherine Evans born 2-10-1869 in Kelly; died 12-31-1924 Pender Co., NC. She married James Lafayette 'Tate' Pridgen born 10-13-1862 in Kelly; died 7-24-1931 Pender Co., NC They had 9 children, all of which were born in Kelly. Records indicate that Tate and Sarah Catherine Pridgen are buried on their farm in Pender Co., NC. James Lafayette 'Tate' Pridgen is brother to the above Jefferson Davis Pridgen.
