Thanks so much Kay. I would really appreciate any help you could give me with this. From what I understand there are two books. The first one is the one I know about and have seen, or I think it was the first one and the one I know the title of. I am not sure if they both hold the same info or if one is an updated version of the one I named. From what I understand Mr. Mayo is a cousin of mine as well. The particular line I want from the book stems from Samuel Faircloth and his wife Elizabeth Unknown. Their son Raiford/Rayford/ Raeford is my line. He was the father of Nancy Faircloth who married Reddin Williams, so this book holds info on two of my lines as well as many others I think that I may not know about now. I would be interested in anything on that line at all from Samuel on down . I would assume most of the book pertains to one or more of my lines since it is to be descendants of two people named in the title. That is why I would love to find a copy of it so I can work with the whole book. If I cannot do that I would love any help you could give me with this. Thanks so much for the offer. I really appreciate it. I know it is a HUGE book. I got a glimpse of it two days ago and I am frothing at the mouth as I type. :-) Thanks Again, Sharon Dover Romanek Fax:( 305)675-8045. e-mail: PRIMARY sromanek@salisbury.net sromanek@hotmail.com Researching: Romanek, Gucwa, Dover,Shrader, Tyner, Johnston, Williams, Edge, Smith, Kirksey, DeMers, Murphy, Allen It's 2001 ... I am looking for a book titled The Descendants of Neil Culbreth and Martha Autry of Sampson County, North Carolina. Does anyone on the list have it or know where I could buy a copy if it is still available. I would love some information out of it on my Faircloth family. I descend from Raiford Faircloth, son of Samuel Faircloth. This Raiford married Martha Jones. They are buried in Bladen County. I know this is the Bladen list but it seems I have heard others mention this book from time to time. I just recently discovered it holds much on my Faircloth family. As usual I am still diggin for more information on my family. Thanks in advance. Porter Swamp is located on highway 76 in Cerro Gordo, Columbus County, NC between Chadbourn and Fair Bluff. There is a church (Porter Swamp Church) on the left and the cemetery is on the right side of the highway across from the church. This cemetery is also listed on line at the Columbus County Genweb site. The area is about 6-7 miles from Chadbourn, NC, this is a rural area, not a town. > ** Original Subject: RE: [NCBLADEN-L] Re: A Location > ** Original Sender: BJBARNHILL@aol.com > ** Original Date: Tue, 20 Nov 2001 08:50:27 -0500 > ** Original Message follows... > > Does anyone know if there was a Porter Swamp community in or around Bladen or > Columbus Counties? > Thank you in advance. > Have a Happy Thanksgiving. > > Jane >** --------- End Original Message ----------- ** > Download NeoPlanet at http://www.neoplanet.com
