    3. Hi Jessie, I can give you all the MUNN graves in Bladen but from the checking that I have done it seems that the Munn family of Bladen was the Daniel Munn line and his descendents. There is a Munn farm in Bladen but, again, it was originally owned by Daniel Munn. I cannot find the first name James in the census, Wills, Heritage book, Bibles or cemeteries. I also checked all the books on the Scots that I have and once again they all pertain the Daniel. From # 17 634 THE MUNN FAMILY (in part) Daniel Munn I was born in Scotland in 1775. He was the son of Angus Munn. They came to Cumberland County in the late 1700s. He moved to Bladen County and purchased 340 acres of land, three miles west of Tar Heel in 1800, from John and Thomas Robeson. He and his uncle built a schoolhouse (perhaps this unnamed uncle is James) which was called Munn Institute . . . Note: He had eight children by two wives - no James's. I will be glad to give you the burial information if you think it will help you in any way. Just let me know. Dee . "The old WEST homeplace was near the county line of Cumberland Co., NC around Beaverdam Community; some 7-8 miles from South River Presbyterian Church; on Hwy 210 also, but 4-5 miles west of Hwy 701. SRPC is located on Hwy 210 about 2 miles east of Hwy 701; the nearest town being Garland, NC. The old WEST place was cut into Cumberland Co. when that county was formed." I am hoping someone native to these NC areas will be able to tell me something about this statement that was sent to me. Who lived there in the "old WEST place"? Any information helpful. Thanks.

    3. Hi David From # 48 There is NO George, G.W, or George Washingtom Cowan listed in this family Bible at all. Though it is the Bible pertaining to John Cowan and his wife Elizabeth Salter Cowan m. September 25th 1788; John Bradley Cowan and his wife Catherine Nicoljon (Cate? this is her Bible given to her three days after her wedding; John Nicoljon Cowan and his wife Ann. M. Millan m. 5th Nov, 1807 Also featured is Magnus Cowan and his 2 wives: Lovedy Arnett m. July 25th 1738, and Jannet McAlester March 26th 1752. From # 50 This is the Will of William J. Cowan dated April 14, 1855, formerly of Bladen but now of Washington, D.C.. It only mentions "Stepson & Executor: James W. Lesesne". From # 46 This volume has the Saltar family Bible and mentions: Elizabeth Saltar was born Thursday the 8th of February 1770 about six o'clock in the morning. (Married John Cowan). Elisabeth Cowan departed this life in the morning the twenty seventh of April 1795 in the 26th year of her age. (Was mother of Gen. William Cowan of S.C.)
