    3. Hi Diana, From # 11 Rieley, John, 073 [Orange], c1791, WB-B/152, AR Riley, Jacob, 073, c1812, WB-D/365, AR Riley, William, 073, 1846, WB-F/238, AR In checking Orange County deeds in the late 1700s I found John Riley and wife Mary; Jacob; James and wife Rachel; James, Jr.; and William. I was looking for possibilities. You can rule out John and Mary Riely: he died in 1791 and named wife Mary, William, Nancy, Elizabeth, Robert and Samuel. In checking Orange County Marriages these seem to be "in the running" for parents (only because of the marriage date). RILEY, James - GRIMES, Sarah, 08/09/1793 RILEY, James - WATSON, Ellender, 02/03/1802 RILEY, John - COLLINS, Polly, 07/11/1800 RILEY, John - REDMAN, Sally, 01/19/1793 RILEY, John - WHITTAKER, Polly, 06/31/1794 RILEY, John - LYTLE, Mary, 07/26/1785 RILEY, Peter - WOODS, Elizabeth, 07/21/1795 RILEY, William - DOLLAR, Sarah, 02/06/1793 I checked James Thompson since he witnessed the wedding of Martha and Sanders but found nothing interesting. I'm sorry I didn't reply, I thought I had. Our computer went through a major crash also. However, my husband said all of the pictures are backed up on another hard drive. I'll have to get him to put them on here so I can e-mail them to you. I talked with Kay and she also lost them (computer crash) so I need to send them to her too. You don't happen to have the actual newspaper clipping of the obituary do you? It would be nice to have a copy of that if it exists. Could you send copies of the bush pictures you have. I'd like to have them also. Thanks. I'd like to get back with you on the Bush genealogy. We might make a trip to Elizabethtown and to Kelly this winter. We did last year (to see my grandmother) but were only there for two days. I went out to the old Bush and Porter graveyards while their with my mother's cousin, Elliot Henry. Looking forward to hearing from you. Gail

    3. Mel, I would be very interested in the source of the information about a Mary McAlister that you mention married John Carter circa 1795/1800. There was a Mary McAlister in Burnswick Co with land in 1795 who I have little doubt was a widow. Another was a taxpayer in Bladen Co in 1784 ( Ibelieve her late husband was from the Isle of Arran in Scotland).. Another Mary b. in 1743 immigrated to the Cape Fear, NC from Scotland with Coll McAlister, a tailor, b. 1750 in Sep 1774 but it is improbable that it could be her. The Mary McAllisters in Cumberrland Co, by any spelling, (that I know of) did not marry Carters, but were too old or too young, or were married to others in the late 1700s. I have a great deal of information on the McAlisters who lived in that part of Cumberland Co that is now Harnett Co, NC and I would be glad to research this if you can locate the approximate site of where your Carter lived in 1800 or have any more defining information. (For example: If you are sure it was in in Captain Evans Militia District, that would help). 3. Hi Ray, I have everything that you mentioned (except the cemetery list) but I have Jacques mother's name as FRESNE. I have the following, let me know what you need. 1. The Will of ANTHONIE DE BOURDEAUX, 1724, Charleston (# 140) 2. A number of very early (pre 1700) warrants for this family (also see spelling De Baurdeaux and DuBourdeaux)(#499) This will get us no where fast. I have this family in, probably, 100 plus books and I would be spinning my wheels since I have no idea what you have. I need to know exactly what you are looking for. The easiest way is for you to send me a list a exact questions. 3. Someone asked me for a lookup in a cemetery book yesterday and I messed up all the emails in my "IN" box so would you please resend it. I do remember that you wanted the location of a cemetery. Dee For a detailed bibliography on the reference sources used for lookups, refer to this link: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncbladen/lookups.htm

His father is JOHN CARTER b. around 1740 - 1750. I could not find a consistent match with your line. My family names are consistent over three generations as: James; John; Henry; George W. and William J. It starts to diffuse after that. I have found a Henry Carter in 1820 Cumberland (Captain Evans) living near my family line that I believe is related (a brother to James). It is highly unlikely my family is from the Thomas Carter line. There are no Thomas names anywhere in my family line 1750 to present day.. Thanks so very much, Mel
