There were 32 pages in this packet. This has been a great learning experience for me since the only times I have ever been to NC is when we were stationed at Ft Bragg in the 50's and an occasional visit to my husband's family in Colerain. Where is Indian Woods? I could not find it on the atlas. I recently took a genealogy class and our instructor, a master genealogist, told us that every census is prepared in three copies. The original goes to the National Archives in DC; one copy goes to the state archives, and the other remains in the county. After the enumerator turns in his pages to the county, they are copied and distributed. Before copying machines, they were copied by hand--sometimes by the clerks in the county offices. I think maybe this is why we turned up with 4 & 6 year old single sons-in-law. It would be interesting to see the original. Take care, and I surely enjoy the mailing list. Trudy Swain
