Relationship to the head of household 3. Race 4. Sex 5. Month and year of birth 6. M = Married, S = Single, Wid = Widowed 7. How many years married 8. Occupation 9. Women may have an addition set of numbers to show the number of children they have given birth to, and how many of those children are still living at the time of the census. Example: 8/3 [meaning that woman had 8 children and that 3 of them are still living.] 10. Each household can be identified by a designated "head" family member, and the households are separated by a double space. 11. When a person listed or one of their parents were born somewhere other than North Carolina I will try to make it clear just who and where. 12.
