Wheeee! I found Flag Run Gut with all your help. It was on p. 43 in Delorme's NC Atlas & Gazetteer which I had bought after someone on e-mail had recommended it. I thought I had searched so thoroughly that I was astounded to find it. Just where you all had said it would be. Thank you so much. I couldn't believe the responses I got from all you fellow genealogists and researchers. I really appreciate being able to find the land being bought, sold, and lived upon by my ancestors.
