William Bryan & Elizabeth Smith. Frederick was supposedly born around 1761 in Pitt Co., North Carolina" What documentation do you have that the above is true? I have a copy of the marriage bond issued in Bertie County, NC 14 Feb 1780, from the North Carolina archives, for Frederick Bryan and Amelia Pugh. I would like to be able to document the fact that Frederick Bryan is indeed the son of William Bryan and Elizabeth Smith. I would also like to be able to get some form of documentation that Louisa Bryan was the daughter of Frederick and Amelia Bryan. The dates that I have seem to question that relationship. If frederick and Amelia were married in 1780 Louisa should have been born sometime after 1780, but she was married to John Jolley in 1782 and her first child, Frederick Jolley was born in 1783. I have good reason to believe John and louisa were married 1782 and the birth of my GGGrandfather, Henry Jolley, their son, was born 26 Aug 1789. Louisa could not have been his mother at 8-9 years of age. Is it possible that Louisa and Frederick were brother and sister? The estimate! d birth dates I have for them are 1750 for Frederick and 1756 for Louisa. Can you help me figure this out? Is there any indication that William and Elizabeth Bryan had a daughter named Louisa? I have several references that Louisa was the daughter of Frederick but none of them are documented. I hope you have some information that can shed some light on this question. Thanks, Jack Davis
