It has been such a long time.......I am delighted to hear from someone who might know anything about this Cobb family....It has been the most destressing research that I have tried to do. One brick wall after the other... Who is your mother in law and who did she marry? I would love to talk to her. Does she have any idea who any of these married? Mary Martha (twins) Sarah Canaughton (was his wife a Perry?) George S. Clarence You asked who found the grave...it was Susan Souropolus (I know that's spelled wrong) and Neil Baker >From Merry Hill go to the Peterson Chapel Church rd, ca one mile on the left near the road. The farm is know owned by Braxton Cobb, it's called the Phelps farm. Two graves inside a fence. Celia White Phelps 5/3/1875-6/30/1947 One marker had fallen over. I think this was Celia's husband Jim (James) Phelps. These two were outside of the fence. J.T. Cobb 10/22/1872-11/11/1911 The following was almost unreadable. Not totally sure it's accurate. W.W. Phelps 1/1909-9/11/1912 ---------------------------------------- another cemetery Britt-Morris Cemetary. Matilda M(artha) Cobb 1847-1921 Gone but not forgotten (wife of GW Cobb, maiden name Shaw) GW Cobb (George Washington) laying down and broken in half 1847-1923 Gone but not fogotten Helen Barber Overton August 1, 1936 2 months, 4 days (metal marker) Mother Margaret Ann Britt (Daughter of James Monroe and Margaret Britt) Wife of James T. Morris May 30, 1855 December 1, 1928 James Thomas Morris June 19, 1848 April 21, 1922 Margaret Anne (Shaw) Britt 1828-1897 (wife of James Monroe Britt) There were two small headstones beside each other with hand engraved writing both with Baby Ann Shade Cobb on them but no dates. Two other small headstones together with no evidence of engraving. Other signs of unmarked graves. I would appreciate it if you would ask your mother in law if she knows any of these people burried in these two cemeteries. I don't know what the connection is with the Britt / Morris / Cobb / Overton Thanks so much for contacting me again. Alice
