Cathy 1810 1 June Bertie County NC Estate & Inv. 010.508.40 NCArchives April 2002 Cathy Hart FARRIS June 1, 1810 We the Jurors do say upon the oath at the House of James HAYES dec'd of Bertie County and State of North Carolina that Anthony WIGGINS of said State and County by force of arm did assault the said James HAYES being then and there in the peace of God and of the State and that the said Anthony WIGGINS with a certain hoe then and there held in his right hand of his malice aforethought did give the aforesaid James HAYES several mortal wounds upon and about the head which broke his scull in several places which happened on Saturday the 26 day of May 1810 and was assisted by his wife Mary MANLEY and a negro Tom assist to carry the corps to the place concealed in witness whereof we have hereunto affixed our names: Noah B.
