Brittan listed at the bottom of this page, the last name is actually spelled Britton, his wife's name was Mamie. I also noticed his brother listed on the page prior to this with him family continued on to this page, the last name should be Britton for John T and his family as well. Looking at past census Britton seems to be a name like many others was in the ear of the "beholder/listener". I don't think it was spelled correctly in the 1920 Census either, I think this census the taker spelled both the Britton brothers different from each other --- and they only lived a short distance apart. When the 1930 Census comes out to the public it will be interesting to see how it was spelled, depending on when 1930 was taken James may not show up, he died in March of 1930. It certainly has been very interesting to see how so many names were spelled based on how the taker heard the sound---thank goodness for the soundex when you looking at records!!
