Barbara, This is called mold and can be cleaned with a mixture of white vinegar mixed 1 cup vinegar to 2 cups water. Spray on and it will kill the mold. You do not even need to scrub. It sometimes does not instantly go away. It can be used on lawns as well to rid them of the green mold. Am slow in reading emails so someone else may have sent another one that is better. Last year someone had a solution for this issue and I have had a computer crash so do not have it. Elizabeth Johnson Schoeb
