I am sorry to here of Mr.Baker's death.  I am know this is a true loss to family, and indeed a loss to those of us who have found our family connections do to Neil Baker's energy and dedication to Bertie County, its history and its people. He was born in Bertie County on April 4, 1949 to the  late Enoch Ledrew and Sybil Hoggard Baker. He was also predeceased by a  son, Brian Ledrew Baker, and his brother, Gary Baker. Neil was a member of  Capeharts Baptist Church and retired from RJ Reynolds as a LAD Manager. He  enjoyed genealogy and was very knowledgeable in it. Graveside funeral  services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March, 20, 2009 at Capeharts  Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jake Dunlow and Rev. David Baker  officiating. He is survived by his wife, Francis Spruill Baker of Windsor;  one daughter, Shannon Baker of Greenville; one son Neil Baker, Jr., of  Windsor; one sister, Carol B. Penn of Williamston; and three  grandchildren, Tyler Neil Baker, Lauren Faith-Rae Baker and Caleb Lee.    The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday,    March 19, 2009 at Walker Funeral Home and at other times from the home.  Memorial gifts may be made to Capeharts Baptist Church, c/o Dennis Brooks,  1738 US Highway 17 N, Merry Hill, NC 27957 or Askewville EMS, P.
