I found in a cookbook that was many years old a name for someone. I was researching and looking for a Mollie all the time and found that in the cookbook it reference Mary Elizabeth (Mollie) and it gave her spouse name and where they lived and the year she put the recipe into the book. So I guess this can be called clutter however did you know that a recipe can date when it came about. There are dishes that came from counties that were developed in certain centuries and the discussion of them can lead to when they were changed and a lot of time that dates the time frame of the change and even the location of the family, So much for clutter. I am now tracing my roots in NC and hoping to find my brick wall and resolve it. I do agree we can get Clutted up with discussing these things, However lets remember that a lot of interesting things come about if you just read and hear and see what is being said. I am looking for the father of my Lott Gregory. According to the books and notes of my family he was born in Sampson County, NC and died in Turkey Creek North Carolina. Over the years I have found the last name spelled different ways. I can find him with deeds, wills and census. However, we have never found out his wife name nor his parents name. Some have a Theory that the fathers name was Francis, Some say Thomas, Some think it is Ethel Red, and others believe Hardy/Hadley. I just do not know. So if anyone has any ideas on this let me know. Any suggestions welcome. I have searched census, deeds, wills, tax records any paperwork I can find in that area and cannot find where they came from. Did they land in NC or VA or somewhere else. I know VA had a lot of Gregorys in that state. Is Lott a family name given by the mother for one of her family surnames. Could it be a surname on the fathers side of the family. So many questions unanswered. I can find Ethel REd! in some papers and I find Thomas and other Gregory/Grigories/Gregiory in the census as that time in and around Sampson Co however cannot tie them together. I am a member of Ancestry.com and I have pulled every paper I can find there also. Sammie Jean Gregory-Fairchild (JEANNIE) All and any help appreciated.
