I am researching the Bird/Byrd/Smith families in and around Roxobel.  My father never knew his dad because Dad was only 2 1/2 years old, so I am having a hard time with my father's line. His father was Lonnie James Byrd and his grandfather was William "Tom" Byrd.  "Tom" Byrd I believe used to have a house in Roxobel.  William "Tom" Byrd was born in Rich Square in 1859. Gerald
