    2. They are both related. Genealogy is family history. Family History is Genealogy. You can't separate the two. For those who are just interested in lineages for getting into DAR and SAR and care nothing for the lives of their ancestors then they should stick to their pedigree charts. I am also very interested in Genetic Genealogy. I want to find out what each of my ancestors died of. This enables us to find out what is hereditary in our families and make us aware of what to look for in the future in our grandchildren. I am handicapped (Legally bind since birth) and notice over the years that others on this site are also interested in this. I have seen posts related to other eye problems I am related to a lot of folks in the Bertie area, being descended from Rev. Joseph W. White and George W. Cobb, Squire Billy. This is something that might save lives in the future. We have to face the future with an open mind. Nina Cobb In a message dated 8/18/2009 5:45:58 P.M. One is Lame Dave Jernigan who is talked about on this website: http://www.dickshovel.com/coree20.html<http://www.dickshovel.com/coree20.html> This is a "very" interesting site and has lots and lots of material that has been researched. These Jernigans ended up in Wayne County, but I'd better dollars to donuts they came through Bertie or one of the surrounding counties. "But there were so many Pates named Daniel in the area, he became the preacher man known as Silas, "A True Predestinarian Baptist," it says on his tombstone, when he answered the call to preach. Christian's mother Sithy was married to Jesse Ammons, a Coree. Her grandfather was "Lame" David Jernigan. The Pates and Jernigans were on opposing sides for years in political conflict that rocked and shocked the county for generations. This conflict is obliquely related to The Search for Johnny Chevin. It was part of a political struggle over the development of Wayne County."
