While you are investigating www.familysearch.org, don't miss the digitized documents and digitized family history books, and the catalog of the holdings of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City which can be rented at a local Family History Center. The digitized records (censuses, vital records, etc.) can be found under the "Search Records" tab, then "Record Search Pilot."  The digitized family histories can be found under the "Search Records" tab, then "Historical Books".  The catalog to the library holdings that can be rented is under the "Search Records" tab, then "Library Catalog".
