I don't mind the food talk except I've gained a little wt. just reading it. Claudia, keep up the good work. Thanks. Betty
Betty, Do you have dates for Isiah Thomas? My ggg-aunt, Temperence Tayloe, married an Isiah Thomas b. abt. 1793. Isiah did have a sister, Mary, who married a Jones, but she could have been married more than once??? My great uncle, Will Hyman, was married to Alice Harrell whose grandfather was Donald Carlos Harrell. He went by the initials D.C. and he died about 1898 in Bertie Co. Could this be your D.C. I know he was married to a White, but he also could have had another marriage. Betty, I am working on the rest of the story but I finally thought about talking to my mother tonight about Isiah Thoams. His wife was definitely Mary; as you know. My mother tells a story about my grandmother telling her that Mary was sitting looking for Isiah to come home and got mad at my grandmother when she told her he was dead and was not ever coming home. Acording to the info you have he was my grandfather's uncle. That is a piece of the puzzle that I do not have. Another interesting thing is DC Harrell was my grandmother Thomas's grandfather. Marietta Catherine White was her grandmother. I have D. C's will. The 1860 Census shows Elizabeth Harrell living with DC and his brother Joseph was married to Martha and they had a son Joseph A. and DC was married to Mary Thomas at that time.. Acording to what you have she was related to my grandfather's family. I have all his children but am unsure if any were with Mary Thomas. I just can't put my hand on that info at this time. I need to reinstall Family Tree maker and maybe it is all listed there. Hae had so many computer crashes that I have lost a lot of things but have hard copies that I am sorting through. I did find some of the Thomas info and will share what I have found tonight. Josiah Thomas, Sr Josiah Thomas, Jr. B.1775 D. 1859 Married Elizabeth Baker Jan 20, 1891 Everett Thomas, Sr. B.1805 d.
