Thanks for your remarks. Love thy family and neighbor, Pete Austin -----Original Message----- From: ncbertie-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ncbertie-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Beth Wienberry Dix Sent: Wednesday, August 19, 2009 6:00 AM To: ncbertie@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [NCBERTIE] Bertie County List I don't belong to very many mailing lists, but, while working on my husband's family, I joined the Floyd Co., VA, list. During the time I belonged to that list, there were discussions about what they were going to watch on TV that night, jokes, political discussions, and their personal health problems. I posted a "respectful" statement to that list stating that I felt their discussions were inappropriate for a genealogy forum. I never heard a word in response to my post. This same subject came up on an Illinois list I subscribed to briefly while researching my father's side. One of the members of that list became very upset at some of the non-genealogical posts. Some of the other members became very defensive and very rude statements were made among the list members. I think it's great that our Bertie list can discuss our opinions without things turning ugly. Beth ----- Original Message ----- From: "K.
