    2. Yes, that was the bond date. I do believe that is the same Elisha who married Happy Stallings... There are variations of the spelling of her last name...Stallings, Stallions and Stallins.. She was a daughter of Reubin Stallings. Her brother Moses was married to Nancy Jenkins, possible sister of Turner Carter's wife, Elitha. Turner Carter's 2nd wife Penelope was a niece of Happy. I recall seeing info on an Elisha Averitt Rhodes. It seems like he was a person of some importance. I think there is a bio of him on the Bertie County web site. This Elisha may have been the same of a son..I'd have to go back and check dates. In a message dated 8/20/2009 9:28:14 P.M. Then I have Elisha Rhodes married to Happy Stallings, 7 Jan 1813, Christian Co., KY, but don't know if these are the same person or not. I have a notation that this may be Elisha Averitt Rhodes. Also the following abstract of a will in my notes: William C. Carter, May 26, 1826, Wife Temperance, Elisha A. Rhodes, Exr. Test, Isaac J. Kittrell, Hanry Castellow. Perhaps there was Elisha Rhodes and Elisha A. Rhodes? KY421@aol.com wrote: > Hey Pete, > > Which Rhodes? There was an Elisha Rhodes who was engaged to Reamy Carter > in Caldwell Co., around 1813-15. 3. Thanks, Carol! My info matches yours execpt for Penelope. I have Penelope Stallings/Stallions/etc. listed as a younger sister of Happy, parents Reuben Stallings and Sarah Reasons. If she's the niece and not a sister, can you tell me who her parents are? Yes, Nancy Jenkins was the youngest sister of Elitha Jenkins, according to Sharon Piche, who descends from their sister Celia. Elitha, Nancy, and Celia were 1st cousins once removed of my gg-grandfather John Wynn Jenkins, who m. Marena Matilda Nichols, dau. of Wright Nichols of Hertford Co., NC.
