There was also a Mary E. Jenkins listed as age 19. They were family #1081. I am wondering who the father of Robert may have been? I think he could be the son of Abner or William Jenkins. The father of Abner and William was Robert Jenkins who d. 1791 in Bertie Co. I have guardianship records for the children of Robert Jenkins (Sr).

Need Proof of the parents of William Rascoe whose marriage bond for marriage to Rachel Harrell in Bertie County is dated December 10, 1777. Rascoe sur-name spelling in various forms i.e. Rascow, Rascoe, Rasco, Raschoe, Rasko, Roscoe, ect. Believed to have resided in that part of Bertie County which became Hertford County in 1759. Served as a Captain in a North Carolina Militia during the Rev. War. Purchased land in Bertie County from John Morris in 1786 (deed book N, p.208). Purchased land from john Wimberly in 1790 (deed book P., p.303. Purchasce land from Guin Harrell et.al. in 1792 (deed boork P., p. 304). All property appears to have been in the Flagg Run area near present day Lewiston and Woodville. William Rasco and wife Rachel sold this land to Jesse Averrit and William Pugh in 1794 (deed book Q., pp 163, 165, 167, 303). William and Rachel Rascoe moved to Tennessee in the fall of 1794. William had at least one brother named Teagle (Teakle, Teale, Tetkle, Teele ???) Rascoe who was listed in the tax records of Hertford County in 1769. Enlisted in Captain Vaughe Company, 7th N.C. Regiment in Januaru of 1777 and died in service in February 1778 at Valley Forge, Pa. William Rasco was apparently his only heir as he obtained Teagle's back military pay and a 640 acrea bounty land grant owed to Teagle Rascoe. In 1792 William Rascoe and Hardy Murfree made depositions that William Rascoe was a brother of Teagle Rascoe and the only brother that was presently living. William Rascoe wife, was a daughter of Jesse Harrell of Bertie County who made his will Sept. 19, 1786 and probated in Februaru of 1788. In addition to needing the names of William Rascoe's parents, I need his date of birth or approimate age when he married Rachel. Was William married to anyone else prior to his marriage to Rachel? What was William Rascoe's relationship, if any, to the other Rascoes living in Bertie County in the late 1700's and early 1800's? James R. Rasco
