http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~walanray/censday.htm This page is very helpful in showing how the changes in the actual Census day (in those early census) could make such a BIG difference in which category the person is listed, i.e. under 10, etc. I think this is such a helpful explanation. Dear Group, Someone recently asked me about Snowfield location. Hello all, I have updated Mother's page at http://www.txdirect.net/~hpeele/pgalry1/mom100-a.htm telling about her 100th birthday. Thanks to all of you who sent cards and participated... She has improved after having (maybe) accepted the fact that she is there to stay? She still wants to go home but wouldn't all of us? Love you all... Barnacastle 30 Oct 1856. She was the daughter of George Washington and Angeline Mizell. Angeline died around 1844 and 3 of Angeline's 5 children went to live with other relavtives. Some times Mary Matilda's name is listed as Matilda M. as in Bertie County Marriages, 1762-1868, I believe they are the same person. In the 1850 census Mary M. age 15 (1835) is living with Samuel and Matilda Barnacastle. Their daughter Mary Caroline was already married so this is not her. Samuel would be the Uncle to Mary Matilda. Perhaps they could be the parents you are looking for. John and Sarah are my great great great grandparents. Linda Sue

It is my understanding this wagon train would have been moving westward in the early to mid 1800's. When they reached AL. stayed over for a time, then decided to move on west. Some of several families my Sugg/Suggs and Bolen/Bolins the Hills and several more, split with some of each of the families going north into Illinois and others on to MS, possibly AR, TX. & OK. I do not know if the Medlins were in the split or if they just came on west. It's in TN, GA, AL, & VA. that I have trouble finding anything. The Sugg/Suggs used the same names over & over & over, without parents or other siblings I can't figure out which ones belong to me. Shirley in OK.

I am not real good with direction but since you are in OK that would be west from NC right? If so my Medlin's did travel west to MO and OK., and Suposedly TN. I will keep an eye out for your Sugg/Suggs names in my research, but I just started to work on this part of the family line and have not been working on it for more than a few days.
