John Turner left several pieces of land to his sons. He left Joseph and Simon the land on Boddie's Branch, adjoining Mr. HARDY and Edward Harris. This is just to establish the fact that Jenkins Dorman was in Isle of Wight in 1705 and 1708 after being used as a headright for John White in 1701. ( See original post above) This does not mean they were from Isle of Wight in 1701 but does show that this is where one of the headrights ended up instead of in NC.

Cashie Swamp is the same area where I am trying to find the buyer of 237 acres of land patented to William Willson in 1725. At that time, the land was joining Richard Braswell, Edward Carne and the South Side of Kassiah Swamp. Pat Book 3, p.196 On the same day, Richard Braswell patented patented 451 acres on South side of Kesiah Swamp, joining Richard Braswell, Jr. and the sd swamp. Pat Book 3, p. 195 William Willson was married to Rebecca Braswell and these three men, William Wilson and Richard Braswell, Jr. and Sr. were often found together on the records. There was no record found of William Willson's land being sold, nor was it mentioned in his Will in 1745 (Northampton) However I found the following records which lead me to believe there may have been an unknown son of the William Willson above, William Wilson, Jr. In 1727, William Griffin sold to Samuel Bass, 200 ac on South Side of Kesia Swamp adj. William Wilson Wit: William Griffin, John Gray, Richd Fryer. In 1746, Thomas Bass, planter to William Willson for 240 acres at a branch adj. Amos Grant Wit: Thomas Whitmell, James Keneday [no location given] In 1748, Thomas Ryan [Bryan?], to William Willson 160 ac on North side of Cashie at Poplar Branch. Wit John Nichols, Thomas Holder, James Jolley. In 1753, a William Wilson sold to Lazarus Summeral 50 acs which was part of a patent granted to William Wilson and includes the plantation where Thos. Bass now lives on the south side of Cashie Swamp adj. Thos Bass, Marmaduke Roberson Wit: Thomas Whitmill, Elizbeth Whitmill, Martha Whitmill. [I am thinking that the patent referred to here might have been the one to William Wilson/Willson, Sr in 1725 adjoining Richard Braswell. Next, in 1754 William Wilson (Jr?) sold to William Bryan adj. Amos Grant...no acreage, no location, no price given. And in 1758, William (x) Willson planter of Bertie sold to Thomas Holder 160 ac on east side of Cashy Swamp joining Poplar Branch, sd Wilson. Wit: Jno Hill, Pat Quinsey, Constantine Pierce. Can anyone disprove my theory of the two William Willsons of Cashie Swamp being father and son or give me advise on how to prove it? Last night my Uncle Harry M. Lowe died. He was on the beaches of Pearl Harbor when Bombed in 1941 He served in the navy was in the Suez Canal and Korean War Over the years I corresponded with him and received letters from all over the world. He retired to Memphis TN with his wife Sophia Gregory Lowe. Uncle Harry was a deacon in his Baptist Church and Worked with the young people and My Aunt Sophia was in charge of the Liabary (excuse any spelling wrong) and they have a great legacy of service for their County and God. They have no children by birth however they were always there for their neices, newphews, and any other child the needed spiritual guidence and help. My heart aches right now for one more of my family is gone and I am not able to attend the funeral because of the distance and My own parents are not in the best of health. My Uncle Harry has been in my life always. He will be missed and remebered much. He had a smile that always lighted up the room and a voice that made you feel safe and secure. He was married to my Aunt Sophia Gregory Lowe. My dad's sister. My Aunt Lucille Gregory Cohan lives in Whitehaven also. They will be of great comfort to each other in these times. God Bless You Uncle Harry I know you are in his Flock and at peace now with our Lord and Savior. William was born on 9 July 1859 and married Alice Harrell on 5 Jan 1881. Braxton G. Harrell my grandfather was born on 15 Feb 1882 and married Bessie L. Bazemore on 3 Oct 1905. They had 7 children and my mother was the 5 one born.
