It began West North West of the Present town of Lewiston approximately three miles west of town and run in a South South West direction into the Ronoke River at Buzzard Point West South West of Woodville. NC Gazetteer by Powell: Big Flatty Creek - rises in s Pasquotank County and flows se into Albemarle Sound, Shown on the Hack map, 1684 as Flatt Creek, on the Moseley map, 1733, and the Collet map, 1770, as Flatty Creek. Salmon Creek - rises in e Bertie County and flows se into Chowan River. Appears as Flatt's Creek on the Comberford map, 1657, but as Salmon Creek on the Ogilby map, 1671. Probably named for an early settler.

Can anyone tell me where Flaggy Run is? In 1733, my ancestor bought 150 acres on "the north side of the Moratuck (Roanoke) River on Flaggy Run." The Roanoke River now forms the boundary between Bertie and Martin counties. Tracing north of the river, I can not locate Flaggy Run on any maps I have. Can anyone help? Thanks
