I, too, am interested in the Mizelle family, especially where it connects to the Castellaw family. Joan Baker
Great idea! Why didn't someone think of it before? Keep me posted on your plan. Joan Baker
I am working on a much revamped website, bringing it into the 21st century, and would appreciate 1 or 2 people to give it a test drive. As I browse different websites I keep thinking how inefficient it can be for many people to be researching some of the same ancestors, all stored in separate parallel systems, rather than contributing directly to the same system. This new system hopefully encourages people to collaborate and work together on common ancestors, and multiple duplicates records of each person. Down the line somewhere we're all in the same family, so why not work together directly in the same tree? This is sort of along the lines of OneGreatFamily, except that it is and always will be free, you will retain control over the data you submit, and I'll be here for great customer service. I can respond back to you personally with more details and instructions, and the system has online a thorough description and user's guide as well. Once I get more feedback, I will make this public and get more researchers to join in. But for now, I'm just wanting to recruit someone to give it a whirl and let me know what you think of what I have setup so far. Feedback, comments, ideas welcome! ---------------- Ray Gurganus [email protected]

My GG G/Mo, Frances H. [m-n-u] (b-July 1814), married David C. Martin (b~1805). They raised a family of 8 kids in the Bertie - Martin Co area. David died after the 1850 census, where family was recorded in Bertie Co. Youngest son, Robert, was b-Jan 1851. Widow Frances & 6 kids were recorded in Hamilton, Martin Co, NC 1860 census records. She died Sept 1865, & is buried in Hamilton Meth. Church cemetery, along with family members. Family "talk' suggests that her maiden name might have been HILTON. Her oldest son, James H. Martin (b-1832) initially found as 'h-o-h' in Bath Township in the 1860 census, was with new wife Mary Ann Draper (b-1837-Wash., Co), and infant dau Elethia Carthine (b-1860). I recently found three of GG G/Mo Frances' younger kids, living with Horace & Elizabeth HILTON, in the 1870 Bath, Beaufort Co census records. This could be strong evidence that these kids were in the care of famil! y members, in a nearby county, following Mother's death in 1865. Any help in filling in the missing puzzle pieces would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob Edmondson Chatsworth, CA Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Joan, Here is the name of a fellow who could probably answer more questions about the Castellow lines than I can... His name is Dave Mizelle... this is his phone # (252) 209-6623.. Dave is probably about the most knowledgeable person on this info that I know... He has been doing this since he was 16 and now 35.. He has email... I will get this to you... By the horses and cows being able to be all over it it is fairly clean.. Just the headstone of the little girl is all to pieces... We were able to have enough to get the dates for her and I got her first name from the census records in 1910 with her parents to know her full name... Was Lettie and Mamie's mother buried here with their father J. Ellen Burden Morris?? I would like to share other info with you if you are interested... George also had another wife and I was wondering was she buried here as well... Email me directly if you would like to compare notes.. I recently joined this list and have not posted before. My ancestor Meedy ( spelled diff., ways ) was born there in abt. 1783. I do not have his parents although there are several possibilities for his father. I do not know who his wife was but he had a son Mathus Taylor White was born in Ga. and married Unity Fox in Tenn. Meedy was living in Miss. By the end of 1850. I would appreciate any help on this line. One of my Male cousins has his DNA on the White name group line on Rootsweb. Thank you Jo B Dorame
