His wife was Elizabeth Miller (ca 1751-ca 1835), daughter of Christian and Veronica Miller of Deep Creek, Surry Co NC. Their children were: 1. Frances Maria "Franky" born 26 Jan 1771, died 10 Sep 1842 in Yancey Co NC, m. ? Weatherman, 2. Jacob or William Davis; 2. Matthias Jr.; 3. Jacob William born ca 1779, died 18 Jul 1856 in Yancey Co NC; 4. Margaret born 27 Oct 1784, died 17 Jun 1865, m. Jonathan Miller (my ancestors); 5. Mary Carpenter, born 1788, died aft 1860, m. Josiah/Joseph Roten; 6. David Carpenter born 30 Dec 1793, died 31 Oct 1891 in Greene Co IN, m. Catherine May; and 7. Christina Carpenter, born ca 1799, died bef 1842. My list of children of Jacob William Carpenter who was in Yancey Co NC in 1850 and his widow Margaret in 1860 and whose descendants are now in Avery Co NC (with 2 wives, first unknown and second Margaret) shows: 1. William born ca 1805, died 15 Nov 1881, m. Elizabeth Wilson; 2. David born ca 1806, died ca 1875, m. 1. unknown, 2. Myra Griggs/Greggs; 3. Sophia born ca 1808 m. Gabriel English; 4. Samuel born 3 Jan 1814, died 15 Oct 1862, m. Frances "Frankey" Vaughn; 5. Levi born ca 1817, died ca 1865, m. Catherine Dellinger; 6. Elizabeth born ca 1821, died ca 1875, m. Martin D. Wiseman; 7. Nancy born ca 1826, m. James M. Franklin; 8. Mary m. (Joseph?) Cuthbertson; 9. Frances M. m. Leander Pyatte. I will be glad to share informaiton on this family. Danny Miller
