A few month ago we visited Crossnore in search of the Willie Oakes cemetery. After the second attempt we found it. We had been told that the official name was the Franklin cemetery. We finally found a man who knew it as the Willie Oakes cemetery. Our quest was to may be find information on my grandfather Cordell Oakes. We found who we believed to be his father, William A. Oakes. Also in the cemetery was a tombstone for a year old by the name of Donald Ernest Oakes, listing his parents as Cordell and N. Oakes. Would it be possible for you to provide more information on these people? I really feel I am on the right track but I am having trouble finding anything on Cordell. Any help appreciated, Willie
