    3. Katherine, It helps if you give some dates. That way we know if we're in the right century :) If you know more or less when and where Jake was born, look in the census (if it was after 1850) and you'll find his parents' names. Death certificates are good sources of info if the person died after 1912. I have a Jake Davis probably born late 1790 early 1800. He had a sister Frankie born 1808. His parents are William Davis and Frances Carpenter Weatherman. I can dig up more info and point you to sources if this is your Jake.
