NC Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Avery/400 Surname: Buchanan, Vance ------------------------- Searching for any descendants of Arthur Buchanan(1776) who married Temperance Vance (1885) 1803 in Carter County, TN. They settled in what today is either Mitchell County or Avery County. They had at least ten children: Mary (1804), James S. (1805), John V. (1806), William T. (1809), Arthur (1813), Joseph Leonard (1814), George W. (1818), Nancy (1819), David (1820), and Alexander (1825). My g g grandfather, George W. and three of his brothers, James S., John V., and William T., moved to what was then Russell County, VA ca 1840. William T. moved back to NC after a short while. Appreciate any help.
