I am Zora Green's (Jerry Hughes's great granddaughter) neighbor and I am happy to say that she is still alive and will be celebrating her 93rd birthday tomorrow (01/15/01). Unfortunately, I haven't ever had the chance to interview her on the subject, but I have recently become interested in the subject of my own geneology. I am a great grandson three times removed of Jerry Hughes, also decended on his son Mark's line. My lineage back to Jerry Hughes is well known, but nobody seems to know anything about where he came from or his parentage. The Avery County history books even seem to give conflicting information from volume to volume. Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Teddy Hughes thughes@m-y.net
