Can you give me some dates? We haven't been able to go back beyond about 1880 so far, with a possible link to a George Beam born around 1817. The furthest back we know for sure is Abe Beam, who died sometime around 1895. He was Gyp's father, who was Hettie's father, who was my father's mother. Even if Abe was an only child, it's doubtful his father was, so there's more Beams out there related ... distantly. Send me info, and as I come across things, if anything matches I'll let you know. TS ps, Had to post this reply here. Your email address bounced the message back.

Beam or if he was given a birth name and then illegally accepted the Beam name. Any information that you can give would be GREATLY appreciated. Hope to meet you soon. The following news comes from Elaine Steere <c21highctry@skybest.com>: Dr. Emma Sloop Fink died August 11, 2001 and was buried in the Sloop Family plot adjacent to the Crossnore Presbyterian Church in Crossnore. Like her father before her, she gave over 50 years 'doctoring' the people she loved in Avery County. In addition to this, she was very instrumental in founding the Avery County Health Dept., was active in fund raising for the Cancer Research and a founding member of the Avery County Museum. She served for 40 years as a trustee of Crossnore School, Inc. She was a very modest person who felt honored to serve others. She will be greatly missed. If you were delivered by her or if you have any memories of her that you would like to share, I'd love to hear them. She has a featured Exhibit this year at the Avery County Museum.
