    1. [NCASHE-L] Re: My Blackburn Roots.
    2. My ggg grandfather's name was JOHN BLACKBURN and according to the 1850 Macon Co., NC census, he was born in Ashe Co. NC. He married Emilia (milly) Dyer in Wilkes Co, NC. and she was supposed to have been born in VA. Both of them were born ca 1807. Sometime after they were married they moved back to Ashe Co. NC because some of their children were born in Ashe and Some in Wilkes. in the 1840's they moved to Haywood Co, NC. There was a Nathaniel Blackburn who lived there but I don't know if they were akin. From there they moved to Macon Co, NC in the late 1840's. That is where they lived until they died I think. Levi Blackburn came with him and he was John's nephew. His father's name was Benjamin (according to marriage bond in Haywood Co, NC). He married Mary Mahala Dyer from Wilkes Co. I believe that John was the son of Edmund Leroy Blackburn, Sr. of Ashe Co, but can't prove it. children of John and Milly were: Mary (Pollie) Catherine b. 28 Mar 1834--Ashe co Sarah...ca 1837 Wilkes Co. Edmund Sylvester...1839 Wilkes Co William (Bill) F....ca 1840 Wilkes Co Levi A... ca 1844 Haywood Co John Calvin...11 May 1851 Macon Co. Any Information would be appreciated...... Thanks
