I am looking for Celia Blevins born June 1892 in Ashe, NC. She was one of two illegitimate children of James Melvin Blevins. He later married Martha Yancy and had 10 more children. Although Martha raised Celia and Roby (her younger brother born 1894), she is not their birth mother. I would appreciate any information that can identify Celia’s birth mother. Here is my line... James Melvin Blevins (1873 - 1949) & ‘elusive birth mother’ son of Shubal Blevins & Ada Thompson son of Daniel Blevins & Elizabeth Braccins son of Wells Blevins & Sarah Strunk son of James Blevins & Elizabeth Ward Shubal Blevins and Ada Thompson are second cousins, so my line crosses here. Ada Thompson is the daughter of John Thompson & Mary Blevins daughter of James Blevins & Lydia Sizemore son of James Blevins & Elizabeth Ward It has been rumored that her birth mothers last name is Starling or Sterling.
