In 1912, my grandparents along with their children moved from Mountain City to the prairies of Montana where they homesteaded. Uncle Nat wrote the history and his memories while growing up there. He wrote in quite detail of what life was like at that time, how they lived, how they farmed and the school they attended. You can get to it from the JCTCuzins main page http://jctcuzins.com and click on Cuzins In Other Places or click: http://jctcuzins.com/kinfolk/kinfolk.html and click on the link under "Montana". This story would probably apply to any families who moved west and homesteaded. Some neighbors are mentioned by name...I recognize "Rominger" as not only a name from our neck of the woods, but is one of my family names as well. Grandpa's mother was Caroline Elizabeth (Lizzie) Rominger, daughter of Nathaniel and Emeline Greer Rominger. Lizzie married James Carter Donnelly. Now I'll see what I can do about the indexes to the Johnson County census. Please be patient. Enjoy, MaryFloy The Original Johnson County, TN Page Home of the JCTCuzins http://jctcuzins.com
