The reunion is now just a week away. Hope to see many of you there. The annual Blevins reunion at the Konnarock, VA Community center will be held from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, July 8, 2001. This reunion began at Whitetop, VA over 20 years ago as a reunion of descendants of James and Lydia (Sizemore) Blevins (b. ca. 1770's, d. ca. 1820's). Since that time it has expanded to include descendants of practically all of the early 19th century Blevins families of southwest Virginia and northwest North Carolina. Recent years have included descendants of Wells Blevins Sr, Elisha Blevins Sr, William & Rhoda (Pruitt) Blevins, John S. Blevins, John J. Blevins, Daniel Blevins, Andrew Z. Blevins and Joseph Blevins of Ashe Co, NC, John and Catherine (Cox) Blevins of Grayson Co, VA, and Daniel and Sarah Blevins of Russell/Scott Counties of VA. A potluck lunch will be enjoyed at noon and all are invited to bring food items. Out of towners often bring such things as beverages, ice, KY/Hardees fried chicken, sliced ham, etc. A group picture will be taken after dinner. For those traveling overnight, motels less than an hour away can be found close to Interstate 81 in Marion, Chilhowie, or Abingdon, VA; or down in Ashe County, NC in Jefferson or West Jefferson. As usual we will be staying on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway at the Park Vista Motel near Deep Gap in Ashe County, NC. Hope to see many first time attendees this year.
