    3. Okay, If you're coming from Boone, it's easier to go through Mountain City than to loop back through WJ. So, from Boone, take 321/421 North to Mountain City. When you get to Mountain City, the first stop light you come to will be Shoun's crossing. Turn right. Follow that road until you come to the NC state line which will be at the top of a hill. You'll go down that hill just a little ways and you'll see a road on the left called Flatwoods Rd. Turn there and follow that road all the way to the end where it will turn into a dirt road (Old Burnt Schoolhouse Rd). Follow that dirt road all the way to the end and you'll come to a cemetery and that's the one I've mentioned. There might be another cemetery on that road but it's been a while since I've been back there. It kinda gets a little creepy back there b/c it's so far back but the cemetery is/used to be well-kept. Now, coming from West Jefferson, take 88/194 towards Warrensville. Turn right at Warrensville (194) to Lansing. Go through the stoplight at Lansing and make the first left (Little Horse Creek). Take the second left (Joe Hampton Rd) and follow that to the end. Turn left on Little Horse Creek (I know, it's sounds like a weird way to take but trust me, it's faster to cut off part of that windy road). That road will turn into Coy Ham Rd. and will turn into a dirt road at a fork. John Alley road will be to the left and Coy Ham road will be to the right. Stay on Coy Ham Rd. Take the first left (Fairview Church Road). Follow that until you come to a dirt road on the right called Rock Fence Rd. Follow that road to the end. Old Burnt Schoolhouse Rd. will be on the right and, like above, follow it to the end. John, I think you're right that it is near a Primitive Church but it's been a couple of years since I've been back there. I didn't really look for Lewis's b/c I was looking at my Eldreths (Floyd and Abbie). Let me know if I can help further or if these directions aren't clear enough. From WJ it should take about 45 minutes (b/c of the windy roads and the dirt roads) and from Boone, I would estimate about an hour. Good luck, Shana ----Original Message----- From: John O Graybeal <graybeal@esn.net> To: Shana Anderson <amhmgr@SkyBest.Com> Date: Wednesday, July 12, 2000 8:52 PM Subject: Re: [NCASHE] Burnt Hill Cemetery Shana, That sounds like the cemetery that a number of Lewises are buried in. I thought it was called the Lewis cemetery. Is there a Primitive Baptist church nearby. I have looked for this road before and wondered if there was a way from the NC side. John O.
