To the lady who inquired about a John WILSON in 1850 Ashe census (sorry, I lost about a dozen e-mails and don't recall all info). I have been advised that I missed the listing for John WILSON and his family (family #1097). Knowing the problems with the 1850 index (all my WEAVERs are listed as WEVER), I should checked all possible WILSON spellings. I didn't check WILLSON in the index. There you will find John WILLSON (spelled with 1 L on census page) and his family, most spelled with 2 L's, including a son John, age 17. Sorry I didn't follow my own rules and caused some confusion as a result. Charlie Weaver, Winston-Salem
