I wonder if anyone doing research on ASHE county, TN. could help me in finding out if John Roark who married Nancy Chambliss was born there or who his parents were or if he married there. In what information I have it is stated that he was probably born there in 1774 give or take a few years. Supposedly he went to Smith Co. TN. from there and his first son "William" who married Margaret Reed was born in Smith Co. TN.. I am desperately trying to find out this information for my granddaughter and since I am 80 years old I need all the help I can get. I would ever be grateful to anyone who could help me.
