Hello Ashe county! I am new to the list and am trying to find the parents of my ggggrandmother, Elizabeth Hanson Melton. She was born 1799 in NC and I believe that she is somehow related to the Hanson or Henson family that moved from Botetourt VA to Ashe county NC. John Hanson was married to Mary Magdelena Wall and they ended up in Monroe county IN. He died shortly after he got there but they had a daughter named Elizabeth b. 1799 in Ashe NC. She married John May and moved to Shelbyville IL My Elizabeth Hanson married Nathan Melton b. 1785 in VA and after having a son in Pulaski county KY in 1818 moved to Lawrence county IN which is just south of Monroe. I think that she is the daughter if James or William the brothers of John. Sorry this is so wordy. I just hope I get some news. Thank you, Darla Darla, Leander TX.
