OCLC World Cat is the combined catalog of all the OCLC (Online Computer Library Center) member libraries worldwide -- over 41,000,000 records of books, journals, manuscripts, etc. The database is searchable by OCLC member libraries, who use it as a source of cataloging, reference, and inter-library loan information. It's not something an individual can or would subscribe to ($$$$$). Some libraries make World Cat (and other databases) available to researchers via a subscription-only online service called "First Search" (another OCLC product). Check first with your local library; if they don't have it, try a nearby college or university library. Hope this helps. Karen Stuart
