Hello Michael, I'm sorry, I don't have any information on your Charlton H. Ragan. The Ragons I'm searching for were in Ashe Co. in early 1800 but moved down to Tennessee and most of them went on to Arkansas by time of the Civil War. Do you belong to the RAGAN mailing list? Ragan - probably from South Carolina (he served in the 25th South Carolina Infantry during the Civil War). On March 9, 1863, he transferred from the 25th SC to Company K, 37th North Carolina Infantry, as a 2nd Lieutenant. Company K was made up of men from the Ashe - Allegheny County area so I though he might have had relations there. Lt. Ragan was killed at Chancellorsville. I am also looking for information on the Ragan's from Gaston County that served in Company H of the 37th: Jasper Ragan and Robert F. Ragan. Thanks! Your servant, Michael C. Hardy >>
