I am also very interested in the WEBB and HARMON connections. HARMON was the birth surname of Thomas MARLOW, Sr.'s first mother-in-law. Thomas MARLOW, Sr. married Elizabeth WARD on November 3, 1824 in Rhea County, Tennessee. A Reuben MARLOW, whom I feel was Thomas' brother, married Susan C. WARD on December 13,1824 in Rhea County. Susan was Elizabeth's sister. They were daughters of Benjamin WARD, Jr. and Catherine HARMON. Catherine was a daughter of Cutliff HARMON (Gottlieff HERRMAN) and Susan FOUTS (originally PFAUTZ, but also spelled FOUTZ). Benjamin WARD, Sr. had a daughter named Celia who also married a MARLOW. Another of Benjamin , Sr.'s daughters, Elizabeth Susan WARD, married John C. WEBB. Benjamin WARD, Sr. was married to Selah/Celah DUKE. I have some information on the FOUTS/PFAUTZ and Harmon/HERRMANN lines, but I could always use more, as well as the WARD and MARLOW lines. I'm just curious whether the WEBB I mentioned is connected at all to your ancestry, as well as the HARMON line. If anyone can find the given name of the MARLOW whom Celia WARD married, this would be a great link in our chain. Remember, Celia was the daughter of Benjamin WARD, Sr., father of the Benjamin WARD who moved from Ashe County, NC (where I live) to Rhea County and Campbell County, Tennessee (I was born in Lake City in Anderson County). Please reply if you can solve any part of this riddle. Another thing: Thomas MARLOW, Sr. and his second wife, Profanis WHITE, named a son Paul Harmon MARLOW. Another question is why Thomas would name a wife from his second wife a name which is connected to his first wife? Maybe it was out of respect--or maybe these MARLOWs are tied into the WARD and HARMON lines more than we realize. Some of this family was in the Whitley County area of Kentucky, also. If you know of this connection or any connection to the people named above, please reply. Some of this family lived in Randolph County, Rowan County, and Iredell County, North Carolina as well as in Ashe County and Watauga County. Ima J.
