I am searching for Vinson Jones (b. 1746 in Virginia) who settled on the South Fork of the New River in what was at one time Ashe County and is now Alleghany. He married Elizabeth Cope abt 1755-1760 and they had children named: Vinson/Vincent, William, John, Isaac, Moses, and Elizabeth. I believe Vinson, Sr. came from Brunswick County, Virginia or, perhaps, the Chowan-Bertie-Gates-Hertford counties area in eastern North Carolina. I need to find his parents and place of birth and the names of all his children. Also, I do not know the parents of Elizabeth Cope.
