Carol, Yes, I am researching the Woody/Woodie line, also the Stover, Self, Garrett, Dockery, Lunsford, Helton and Harkins/Hawkins. Stargell, Thompson, Grizzle, Taylor, and Justice also have a branch on the family tree. I sure there are some others, but have concentrated on the Woody line now for so long. I am sure Tobias Woody (my g-grandfather), b. 1805 in Ashe or Wilkes Co, NC, ties into Talton Woody's line, through his son William, but looking for it in writing! I have never seen Tobias listed with a family on a census, (as a son), or any document. We have this description of a piece of land, so we know he lived near Reddys River in NC. --Ashe County, NC--District no. 43 boundary: Beginning on the point of the ridge north of Larkin Shepherds, running a northwest course to the top of the Rich Nob, then an east course to Tobias Wooddy's thence to the top of the Blue Ridge, thence east along the mountain to the dividing line between Reddy's River and Mulberry, thence south with said ridge to the line of Dist. 44, thence to the beginning.-- I was born in Murphy, but grew up in Andrews and Topton.
