Do any of you Wilson researchers know a Frances Wilson b 1778 d 1842, married Isaac Gonce in Hawkins Co Tn in 1796? ---------- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [NCASHE-L] Re: Introduction Date: Sunday, October 04, 1998 1:35 AM Hello: I just wanted to introduce myself by stating how I connect to Ashe County. It is good to see a board devoted to Ashe County. My most famous ancestor is Lt. Isaac WILSON 1822-1864 and his wife Caroline Nancy GREER WILSON (d/o Jesse GreerJr., Frankie BROWN Greer). By the way, I have two different photos of Isaac WILSON. I am always on the look out for other WILSON family photos and family links. I would be very willing to share information about my Wilson branch to anyone interested. It would be great to hear from any descendants of Isaac's siblings. Thanks, Clinton Getzinger [email protected] ==== NCASHE Mailing List ==== Digging for our Roots! To post to the list: [email protected]

    3. Hi Dianne, There was a Levi Pennington (spelled Penington) in the 1840 Ashe County census. He was between 40 and 50 years old. His wife was between 30 and 40. Looks like they had 8 sons and 2 daughters at that time. That's the only Pennington with a first name beginning with "L". Hope it helps in some way. 3. HI All, Not my family but a friend's, and I just could not resist since you all were talking about Duvalls. Eliza Duvall b Jan 30 1860 in TX daughter of William DuVal bc 1830 in KY? or VA? or NC? William DuVal married Catherine Witherspoon bc 1819 Paula Gruginski searches this family. Her address is [email protected] She is currently out of the area, but should return next month. I look for some members of her family while she is away working. The Witherspoons were in NC, and appears that the DuVals may have been also, but that is speculation at this point. Any info appreciated! Thank you, Cheryl Malo

    1. [NCASHE-L] Re: My Blackburn Roots.
    2. My ggg grandfather's name was JOHN BLACKBURN and according to the 1850 Macon Co., NC census, he was born in Ashe Co. NC. He married Emilia (milly) Dyer in Wilkes Co, NC. and she was supposed to have been born in VA. Both of them were born ca 1807. Sometime after they were married they moved back to Ashe Co. NC because some of their children were born in Ashe and Some in Wilkes. in the 1840's they moved to Haywood Co, NC. There was a Nathaniel Blackburn who lived there but I don't know if they were akin. From there they moved to Macon Co, NC in the late 1840's. That is where they lived until they died I think. Levi Blackburn came with him and he was John's nephew. His father's name was Benjamin (according to marriage bond in Haywood Co, NC). He married Mary Mahala Dyer from Wilkes Co. I believe that John was the son of Edmund Leroy Blackburn, Sr. of Ashe Co, but can't prove it. children of John and Milly were: Mary (Pollie) Catherine b. 28 Mar 1834--Ashe co Sarah...ca 1837 Wilkes Co. Edmund Sylvester...1839 Wilkes Co William (Bill) F....ca 1840 Wilkes Co Levi A... ca 1844 Haywood Co John Calvin...11 May 1851 Macon Co. Any Information would be appreciated...... Thanks
